What is microneedling?

Microneedling is a minimally invasive cosmetic procedure designed to improve skin texture, tone, and elasticity. The treatment involves using a device with tiny, sterile needles to create micro-injuries in the skin. These controlled punctures stimulate a natural healing response, boosting collagen and elastin production, which help reduce fine lines, wrinkles, acne scars, enlarged pores, and uneven skin tone.

Microneedling is safe for most skin types and can be performed on the face, neck, and other areas needing rejuvenation. Some treatments combine microneedling with radiofrequency (RF) or serums to enhance results further. While initial improvements may be visible within a few weeks, multiple sessions are often recommended for optimal results.

Does Microneedling Hurt?

Microneedling is generally well-tolerated, especially when a topical numbing cream is applied beforehand. Patients may experience mild discomfort, often described as a tingling or scratching sensation, but pain is minimal. Post-treatment, the skin may appear red and feel slightly sensitive—similar to a mild sunburn—but these effects subside within a few days.
